Frequent Canada–US travellers can save significant time at the border with NEXUS — Canada’s trusted traveller program. Several Canadian credit cards reimburse the NEXUS application fee, making the $50 CAD cost essentially free.

What Is NEXUS?

NEXUS is a joint Canada–US trusted traveller program that allows pre-approved, low-risk travellers to cross the border faster:

  • Dedicated NEXUS lanes at land border crossings
  • Automated kiosks at major airports (YYZ, YVR, YUL)
  • Mobile passport control eligibility in the US
  • Priority processing at US Customs and Border Protection
